Louise & Olly
Louise and Olly first came across Ivy House when they attended a friend’s wedding here in September 2018, and both agreed that the venue would be perfect for the type of day they wanted.
When Louise’s mum saw our Sunday and midweek offer, they decided it was time to make an enquiry. Soon afterward they booked their wedding for the August bank holiday weekend 2019.
“I am so glad we booked - Ivy House really delivered for us. We had an amazing day, which ran smoothly thanks to all of the staff. A lot of the guests were from Norwich so had not heard about the venue and all were pleasantly surprised when they found it at the end of the lane and have commented to us how nice it was.”
With just ten months to plan their big day, the first thing Louise did after confirming the date was to book her dream photographer, Kathy Ashdown. We can see why! The photos are absolutely beautiful. Louise and Olly found a lot of their suppliers through a wedding fair. From florist to venue stylist, fairs are a brilliant way of seeing a lot of local suppliers and getting a good idea of what is available.
Louise met with her venue stylist, Charlene from Goldsmith’s Weddings and Events, to discuss chair covers and sashes, blossom trees, other centre pieces, photo booth and LED post box and she really delivered. Louise made and sourced the table plan, table number and place setting herself, for the personal touch.
“The whole day was amazing but I will remember just how happy I was all day. I loved wearing my dress and every part of the day. It’s the one time in your life that you look up and everyone in a room is someone you know and are there because they mean a lot to you. We felt very loved that day.”
The Crooked Barn at Ivy House is suitable for up to 100 guests, and Louise and Olly took advantage of the extra space the Ivy Hall allows in the evening – with an extra 42 two reception guests.
