Breathtaking Gardens
Ivy House Country Hotel is set in 21 acres of gardens and grounds on the edge of Oulton Broad. Relax in the summer house and have a cream tea or stroll around the grass-cut paths through the extensive grounds.
Pause and have a picnic on one of the many picnic tables set within the beautiful grounds and watch the sailboats glide by on the Broad.
The buildings are set in 21 acres of grounds leading onto and including water frontage on the broads, with 8.0 acres of gardens/lawn.
You can access Oulton Broad directly by strolling from the hotel’s gardens, or walk for miles down the angle way around the surrounding broads and nature reserve.
Wildlife at the Ivy
Part of the 21 acres of Ivy House Country Hotel grounds – which stretch down to Oulton Broad – sits in a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI) and borders on to Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve, where some of the most highly protected species of birds, animals, insects and plants in the country are found.
The hotel’s owners have taken down fences and cut paths wide enough for wheelchairs, bikes and buggies to open an unobstructed route for visitors to enjoy the hidden wildlife wonders.
